About the Author:

Betzabé Romero. Mexican visual artist. His artistic language comprises installations, object art, interventions and videos; his style blends contemporary art with popular art. Romero’s work specializes in themes of social importance such as migration, gender roles, Mexican traditions, religiosity and mestizaje. To this end, she uses and modifies global urban consumer items such as tires, chewing gum, cars, tattoos, etc., to which she imbues a feminine connotation to highlight the role of women in modern times. Her pieces, installations and interventions are a reflection on the contradictions of modernity.
